Annotation

The third issue of the Emigrantica academic series contains works by scholars of emigration from Russia and other countries of the world (Lithuania, Poland, Italy, France, Serbia, Brazil, Israel). The issue opens with an article by the editor-in-chief, which represents one of the first attempts at a typological analysis of Russian foreign literature of the 20th century (combining anthropological and philological approaches). Several papers are devoted to the history of emigration in Poland, the impact of the Russian emigration on the Brazilian theater, and Solomon Saltzman, a figure who influenced publishing in Silver Age Russia, Russia Abroad, and Palestine. The section “Personae” is dedicated to Ivan Bunin, Mark Aldanov and emigrant women writers. Unknown documents are published as appendices to articles about Bunin and Aldanov. The section “Creative Heritage: Poetics, Textual Criticism, and Traditional Practice” includes works about poets and writers of the first wave of emigration (A.V. Amfiteatrov, I.I. Savin, Z.N. Gippius), including the younger generation of it (unknown letters by V.B. Sosinsky and Yu.K. Terapiano are published), and also works about the interaction of the émigrés with representatives of French culture (Le Studio Franco-Russe) and the culture of Yugoslavia (Russian House in Belgrade). The description of the Geneva archive by E.D. Kus-
kova and two publications of materials by representatives of the third wave writers and literary critics (V.E. Maximov, E.G. Etkind, I.Z. Serman, M.G. Altshuller) deserve special attention. The issue ends with a review of I.A. Ndiaye’s new monograph dedicated to Teffi.
The publication is addressed to Russian literary critics, historians, and cultural scholars who study Russian and world emigration, as well as to anyone interested in literature and culture of the Russian diaspora.
