Abstract: The article reconstructs the main physical components (houses, church, educational institutions, academic institutions, etc.) of the urban space connected with Piotr M. Bitsilli’s life in Odessa. The study of Bitsilli’s everyday life on the background of the reconstructed Odessa cityscape of the end of the 19th — beginning of the 20th centuries promotes familiarization with his fellow citizens. Defining the markers of Bitsilli’s personal urban space, with his little-known understanding of the physical places of residence where he grew up, studied, worked and generally spent his daily life, it is possible to assume their influence on his lifestyle, personal development, socialization and self-identification.

Keywords: Piotr M. Bitsilli, Odessa, urban space, urban environment, educational space, pedagogical space, academic space, everyday life, personal development, socialization.
