Abstract: The article reconstructs the biography of M.A. Aldanov in the 1940s. In particular, his move from France to the USA is considered. The central theme is the history of the writer's participation in the creation of new periodicals of Russian emigration in the United States: an unsuccessful attempt to revive the “Poslednie Novosti” newspaper and the successful project of the “Novyi zhurnal”. Aldanov's relationship with I.A. Bunin and V.V. Nabokov is also reconstructed. A.F. Kerenskii is characterized and charitable activities are considered as well.
