Abstract: The article provides the problems of institutionalization of Bitsilli Studies in the context of academic discipline; scholarly disciplinary models in historiography are highlighted; author's models of academic discipline are proposed; disciplinary parameters of Bitsilli Studies are analyzed; the conclusion is made about the academic status of this area of humanitarian knowledge.
